Exhale
by Chloe Zwiacher
Somewhere in Arizona
a
man dies,
the smoke from his last
drag
on
his last cigarette
still rising.
Meanwhile,
I’m trying to push air
into a man
Who will never breathe
the way
I
want him to.
I
can feel
his atmosphere in my
chest,
my
sternum cracking
with the pressure of it. |
