A River & Sound Review:
Recording the Sound of Story in Poetry,
Fiction, Nonfiction, More
Announces:
The First Annual
International Championship of
Pieku
Poetry
Fancy
yourself a poet with a fondness for the
taste of pie? Well, be among
the first to compete in this
original poetry competition.
Whether you are a novice or a
professional when it comes to writing
poetry, you are invited to send us your
submission of original pieku.
What is pieku?
Pieku is a special kind of poem
written specifically about the most
delicious dessert ever tasted by the
human tongue--homemade pie. All poems
must be about pie--any kind of pie, be
it fruit, mincemeat, cream, or m athematical--but
all poems must be in the traditional
three-line, 17-syllable form of a
haiku (five syllables for the
first line, seven for the second, and
five for the third). That’s why we call
it pieku. It is haiku
about pie. All entries must
be received by
September 1, 2008.
Entry is FREE. All it costs you
is the time to use your creative
imagination.
Winning entries
will be featured on a future production
of A River & Sound Review.
