A River & Sound Review ~ Donations

Go ahead, name one writer (famous or not-so, wealthy or otherwise) who hasn’t known the gloom and despair painted on this man’s face. Peddling a manuscript in one hand, he holds the accumulation of his artistic endeavors over the course of thirty years, which he knows will be dismissed and thrown in rejection piles by poor, hard-working editors who have far more manuscripts to consider than they have a budget to publish. In his other hand? That blessed elixir that sustains the life of the literary artist and keeps us working through another day: coffee.

And since this image depicts him in the morning, sometime before 10 a.m., there is likely only one shot of Jamesons in it. Later, he will add two.

A River & Sound Review is a member organization of Valley Arts United, a non-profit arts organization based in Puyallup, WA and staffed entirely by volunteers so all our funds can be passed on to our contributors, through honorarium and through promotion of their work.
